Dessert

Burgos

We are staying at a Marriott in Burgos. After a nap we will partake in the evening paseo (walk). It feels good to be done and healthy. It truly was a buen Camino.

St. Dominico de la Cazada

Final day was 14+ with 80 flights. So for the girls they did 200 miles all totaled! We  walked to Belorado.

Supper

You Know You're On The Camino When

1. A good day is no new blisters
2. Second skin bandages are coveted
3. Kilometers make sense
4. A 20k day is a walk in the park
5. You start checking out other pilgrim's backpacks
6. How much does it weigh is a necessary question
7. At check in you ask if there's ladders
8. You drink 3 liters of water and don't pee for 6 hours
9. You forego lotion
10. Ooh ooh lotion AND conditioner is only found at the Paradores.
11. Nap at 5. Eat supper at 8
12. 10 euros gets you pasta carbonara chicken vegetables dessert and wine
13. Tan lines are worse than farmers
14. Buen Camino is the preferred greeting
15. Camino fellowship abounds

Life is Good

At the Paradores with Ray Charles singing in the background

How bout this

I thought that spot looked familiar!

Camino 2012

Viana

French or Spanish

Hands down French dried strawberries are the best. Thank goodness Jen still had two from St Jean's specialty store so we could do the taste test.

We still have not had sangria. Not every place makes it. Tonight we will stay in Vianna. Maybe they will have some.

Blisters have been wrapped by Sarah and she is able to walk today again. Beautiful day with just rolling hills and fields of grapes and olives with beautifully tended gardens.

Killing Time

Jen is out and about. Sarah is tending her beat-up sock ( it blew off the balcony and got run over). I ate some nuts/Krispy mix 'til I was blue in the face. Just waiting for the 7:00 dinner hour. We will eat at the hotel restaurant. The restaurant in the town square has mystery meat they call pork. Rand and Katie know.

I'm looking forward to Logrono Wednesday. I love that town.

We continue to knock down the "stages".
Each stage ends up being 7-9 hours of walking with breaks. I'm impressed. My fellow pilgrims have  such determination. I couldn't have asked for better. Truly a blessing for me. Buen Camino.

Few more photos

Update

Three full blown blisters. Walked just shy of 15 miles today and 130 flights. Have a balcony and view of church and a TUB!!!

Camino News Flash

Sarah has developed two blisters today. She's not down but she is tending to them. We should get to Los Arcos soon. Will give you update tonight.

Estella

Just got off the trail. 16 miles and 140 flights. After showers it's a pitcher of Sangria. Ps We are done with albergues. We have enough under our belt. Now it's privacy and lights on when we darn well feel like it. Day after tomorrow is Logrono.   We should get in nice and early since it's only 1/2day walk. Will stay at the F&G of course and beat feet to the tapa bars!!
