A journal of 4 sisters taking a 5 week walking pilgrimage through Spain. Preparation, planning, execution, insights, and much more. Check in on their journey.
Nice day but the wind was not blowing at our backs so it was a little bit if work. The lay of the land today was nice and flat. We had a chip contest. We found a really good bakery here in town. We're staying at a hotel that is connected toba monestary.
The spiritual vibes from the monastery will be encircling you---Rosie, you wont't have to sit in the quiet of a cathedral to get spiritual as you did in a previous journey. I'll be thinking of you two on Mom's birthday.
Yeah. My goal is to enter no churches this trip. Instead to dwell on life and natures wonders and enjoy my sister's company and the fellow pilgrims. And to keep HOPING that SOMEBODY figures out Annie's diagnosis. She's going to make an appt to Mayo. I wish all of you could make a Camino :). But then you REALLY have to like to walk :). LOTS. There are also many bikers. But I don't like biking at all. As we entered the monestary hotel they had chanting monks playing. It was way cool. Reminded me of Dubuque and the chanting nuns.
She meant the monks were praying not playing! Just giving you a bad time, Rosie! Wow, when one thinks of all the holy people that have walked the paths you are walking! You're right, I'm sure, that being outside is very beneficial and inspiring! There is probably an anointing or grace on the paths of the camino...Remember in our Catholic upbringing the fact of "communion of saints"? Those saints have walked and are walking the paths you are on! In your mind ask for their intercession on Annie's behalf for a diagnosis and cure... My friend Frances from Ireland goes to a monastery to give prayer reguests to the praying monks or nuns and God answers! My prayers are there for her as always...Love you both!
