I had to look up slivivitz & found out the plum brandy is made from fine plums from Croatia--and another paragraph said plums from Serbia-either way---enjoy some for all of us as you two continue with the second half of the journey. Very impressive that you will be half way soon. Love

As Dad would say with a glass of slivo...Zivili

I found this on line:
.
Zivili, Croatian toast, to life, to health
Isn't this toast really like a little prayer? To health. To each other. To this moment when we are gathered together. Lift your glass -- ŽIVILI! To life!

This toast takes me back to the Croatian island of Krk, sitting outside on a sunny day under a grape-vine roof with a view of the blue, blue Adriatic and drinking brandy with long-lost cousins.

Wow, almost half way! Impressive! The pictures are wonderful! Mike introduced me to "blutwurst"(blood sausage) our first year of marriage. It is good; they don"t use much blood to make it; just sounds really gross! Are you near Fran's hidden note yet? I'm so glad Annie has a good Dr.!

I just noticed something. Looks like we drink a lot. But really e don't. We walk and then once a day have one drink. Alcohol dehydrates a person so we have to be careful. And the preparation for hiking starts the day before by eating carbs and protein and hydrating. I goggled it :). It's funny. It's hard but it's fun. Go figure we are SOOO lucky with the weather. And as always the fellow pilgrims are so pleasant and kind. One big team of sorts.
