Camino pictures

This is our first night in Ronscasvilles. There were bunk beds for 120pilgrims.
This is our morning stretch the day after we did the mountains after the Pyrennes. Goat, Liz and Fran.
A mid-day natural trail snack...wild blackberries. The branches were loaded with them. Fran, Liz and Goat.
Here we are coming down from the ascent to the wind turbines just outside of Pamplona (Fran and Liz)
Outside of the town Cirauqui....it´s so pretty it´s like a mirage.

The photographer is Marian....pictures of Marian arriving shortly.......hang in there Rich.

Nancy has just been reading the blog through me (Neal's computer is still down) Her questions: Any farm fresh cream with those blackberries? And do any meals rival those at THE CAFE ? And what is the value of a euro with the US dollar?

We haven´t run into fresh cream but you cannot believe all the blackberries and figs we´re running into. The meals are not like the Cafe in Goat´s opinion but what they cook is cooked to perfection...especially the fish. The euro was .64 to the dollar but Fran tells me now it´s .48 or something. Go figure. So what we´ve been doing is taking the euro price and halfing it and adding it to the euro price to get the American dollar. A coffee is one euro. A picnic usually runs 20-30 euro for 4 people (bread, meat, cheese, fruit, water, something sweet). The pilgrim meals are 9-12 euro so that´s $ 15-18 dollars per person but it´s hugggee portions and includes wine and dessert. I don´t feel like we´re getting a bad deal at all as far as our money´s worth on the food and lodging. Last night it was free because the owner is some guy who own vineyards and give the building use for pilgrims to stay. You didn´t have to pay anything. You could leave a donation if you wanted. I have all the pictures...probably 500 now. Sure hope I don´t lose my camera.
