There are now three pilgrims on the road to Santiago. This pilgrim finally threw in the towel and HOWLED "Uncle", but am getting better with the decision made in Burgos.
I have been home for a bit over 24 hours and have begun the healing process....both feet and spirits are getting better although still a bit fragile. I went to the Dr. yesterday and he said that I made a good decision to quit walking.....he did some cleaning up on a couple places on my feet and said that I would be walking again soon.
The problem with that statement is that I won't be walking with Team LOS, but know that I am there in desire and spirit......just couldn't get the feet to cooperate.
Love to all,
Mariann

So sorry to see that you had to remove yourself from this pilgrimage, but your feet are much more important. You have taken in a lifetime of memories for the large portion you were able to complete. Such a feat! (no pun intended). Looking forward to seeing you and hearing more of your great trip with your sisters.
Have a great day!

Mariann,
What you did was awesome! You've got an experience 99.999% of us will never get. I was reading one of the Camino websites and it talked about these week long excursions where a bus/van took luggage between stops and you could ride the bus if you were tired that day. Heal yourself up and let Rich pamper you. Love, Joe
Mariann, I hope your feet are healing well...I'm glad you stopped before they got worse. With my knees I couldn't have done it for a few days and you did it over two weeks! You did a feat not many people could even start! Hope to see you soon Love ya....
Mariann,
I'm glad you know when to be good to yourself and coming home was good. We'll all be excited to see you at the wedding and hear your tales for I'm sure there are plenty for the time you spent in Spain.
Love you lots.

I can only imagine what you went though. The thoughts of going through "Da Agony of Da Feet" must have been hard on your "soul". You made the right decision. You were awesome. It is really great to see you back and in good shape!
